The Jian Zhan (建盏) is a traditional black-glazed ceramic tea cup from Fujian, China, dating back to the Song Dynasty. Once used by emperors and now recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage, it is admired for its elegance and unique kiln-born glaze patterns such as hare’s fur and oil spots.

This particular Jian Zhan is crafted at extremely high temperatures (over 1300°C),  incorporating ancient meteorite chondrules that are over 4.6 billion years old—older than Earth itself. These cosmic elements melt naturally into the glaze, creating stunning crystalline effects that make every cup one of a kind.
